NATO plans to use the system to provide “a common data-enabled warfighting capability to the Alliance, through a wide range of AI applications — from large language models (LLMs) to generative and machine learning,” it said in a release, ultimately enhancing “intelligence fusion and targeting, battlespace awareness and planning, and accelerated decision-making.”
Neither party commented on the terms of the deal, but it was enough to drum up market confidence in Palantir, whose stock rose about 8% Monday morning. NATO, however, said the contract “was one of the most expeditious in [its] history, taking only six months from outlining the requirement to acquiring the system.”
Zeitgemäße Betrachtungen
Very simply put, here’s what I believe happened: In the process of accumulating enormous wealth, the tech-oligarchs created the conditions for their loss of social power and, when they realized this, they got a big dose of class consciousness and turned furiously reactionary. The process is analogous to what Marx thought was taking place in the industrial capitalist economy but transposed into the digital realm: to accumulate wealth, the bourgeoisie needed factories, and the factories needed workers, but the need for workers and their exploitation created a mass, militant proletariat. This is the famous “gravediggers” thesis immortally described in the Manifesto:
The essential condition for the existence, and for the sway of the bourgeois class, is the formation and augmentation of capital; the condition for capital is wage-labor. Wage-labor rests exclusively on competition between the laborers. The advance of industry, whose involuntary promoter is the bourgeoisie, replaces the isolation of the laborers, due to competition, by their revolutionary combination, due to association. The development of modern industry, therefore, cuts from under its feet the very foundation on which the bourgeoisie produces and appropriates products. What the bourgeoisie therefore produces, above all, are its own grave diggers. Its fall and the victory of the proletariat are equally inevitable.

Willkommen auf der Website des Sonderforschungsbereichs/ Transregio SFB TRR 294 „Strukturwandel des Eigentums“!
Der Sonderforschungsbereich verfolgt das Ziel, den fundamentalen Strukturwandel von Eigentum, der spätestens seit 1989 zu beobachten ist, zu untersuchen. Er umfasst insgesamt 23 Teilprojekte an fünf Standorten in Deutschland: Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Sprecher*innenhochschule), Universität Erfurt, Freie Universität Berlin, Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, Technische Universität Darmstadt.
Während privates Eigentum nach 1989 unter Bedingungen zunehmender Konzentration und Deregulierung weltweit an Bedeutung gewonnen hat, erweist sich die daraus erwachsene Eigentumsordnung angesichts neuer ökonomischer, politischer und technologischer Herausforderungen zugleich als krisenanfällig und hochgradig umstritten. Sie wird nicht nur durch die globalen Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrisen herausgefordert, sondern auch durch politische Konflikte um die Aneignung, Verteilung und Einhegung von Privateigentum sowie durch Dynamiken der Wissens- und Bioökonomie, mit denen sich alternative Entwürfe von Gemeingütern, geteilter Nutzung und freiem Zugang zu Ressourcen verbinden.
